Hon. Oyetunde Ojo brings over a decade of experience in the housing and hospitality industries to the FHA. His robust background, combined with strong academic credentials, has prepared him to tackle the challenges of leading such a critical organization.
In the official statement announcing Hon. Oyetunde Ojo’s appointment as Managing Director of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), President Bola Tinubu emphasized the significance of this leadership change: “With the historic approval for establishing Building Materials Hubs across all six geopolitical zones, the financing and creation of a National Social Housing Fund for low-income and vulnerable groups, and land reforms to streamline access across states, we aim to unlock nearly $300 billion of dead capital in the sector. Expectations are high for appointees like Ojo to deliver affordable housing for millions of Nigerians while generating countless job opportunities for the nation’s talented youth.

A clear mandate for transformation.
With this clear mandate, Hon. Oyo wasted no time in initiating programs and policies aimed at steering the FHA toward realizing the President’s ambitious goals. Understanding the weight of these expectations, he has taken deliberate steps to position the FHA as a leader in Nigeria’s housing sector.
At his inaugural meeting with the FHA management team, alongside the Honourable Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, Ojo made a bold declaration: “A new sheriff is in town. Our mission is to help Mr. President realize the Renewed Hope agenda of his government.” True to his word, he hit the ground running, tirelessly working to fulfill both the core mission of the FHA and President Tinubu’s vision for affordable housing in Nigeria.
Building strategic partnerships.
One of the key strategies employed by Hon. Ojo and his management team has been working to foster synergy, partnerships, and collaborations with major stakeholders in the housing sector. This includes engaging with state governors, who are crucial for providing land and facilitating housing projects. Hon. Ojo recognizes that governors, as custodians of land in their respective states, play an essential role in realizing the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
In addition to external partnerships, Hon. Ojo has also implemented an open-door policy within the FHA, encouraging staff at all levels to contribute ideas for the organization’s success. Since his appointment, the FHA has become a hub of activity, with numerous stakeholders visiting to collaborate on various projects.
Hon. Ojo and his team have embarked on a nationwide tour, engaging with stakeholders across all six geopolitical zones. These consultations have not only allowed the team to build partnerships but also to inspect ongoing FHA projects. During these visits, Ojo has offered strategic guidance and provided encouragement where necessary, demonstrating his commitment to excellence.
To further the ongoing repositioning of the FHA, Hon. Ojo organized a three-day retreat for management and staff in Kaduna State. The objective was to align the team with the new direction and expectations under his leadership, emphasizing the importance of innovation, accountability, and teamwork in achieving the FHA’s goals.
Despite being in office for only eight months—having been appointed in February 2024—Hon. Ojo’s leadership has already led to significant achievements. His swift actions, strategic vision, and dedication have positioned the FHA on a path to greater success, in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda for the housing sector.
